Through analogue film technique and mystical undercurrents, Diana Vidrașcu’s work explores the fallibility and subjectivity of memory, time and reality.
Vidrașcu masterfully employs the tropes of documentary, fiction and pure experimentation to dazzling effect. Filmed on super 16mm by Vidrașcu herself with bracing scores by electronic artist Mondkopf, these works are beguilingly unclassifiable, displaying formal and aesthetic innovations that belie her recent entry into the world of filmmaking.
